Community

We are proud to support the communities we live and work in, a focus that has been underscored annually. Ives Bank employees have volunteered thousands of hours at non-profit agencies yearly. Our commitment to volunteerism extends beyond our employees. Many of our Directors and Corporators volunteer their time. At Ives Bank, we place a strong emphasis on community service, team building and cultural activities that promote a positive work environment inside and outside the Bank.


Community Reinvestment

In 2004, we established the Ives Bank Foundation to support local non-profit agencies that reflect the core values of Ives Bank. The Foundation provides grants to support a wide range of initiatives and programs in the areas of Affordable Housing, Arts & Culture, Community Services & Economic Development, Education and Health & Human Service. Since its establishment, the Foundation has awarded more than $2.0 million to different organizations.

In addition, Ives Bank supports hundreds of area agencies with special event donations annually.

Employee Engagement

Employee engagement is a top priority at Ives Bank. Employees who volunteer for community projects are happy and productive, and we encourage employee participation in bank-wide, branch or team initiatives. Whether it be food donations, holiday gift collection, charity walks or runs and clean-up projects, Ives Bank employees are always ready to lend a hand.


Employee Recognition

Ives Bank proudly celebrates the successes, milestones and achievements of our team members. This could include:

Each team member selected for recognition receives an award from Ives Bank. Additionally, the individual’s accomplishments are highlighted in our internal and external communications. The program is extremely popular among our team. 

Ives Bank Ambassador Program

The Ives Bank Ambassador Program launched in the fall of 2019. It affords our employees the chance to represent Ives Bank in the larger community. Our Ambassadors serve as liaisons and leaders, raising brand awareness for the Bank at events including fairs, seminars, trade shows, parades and charitable events. Additionally, our Ambassadors have the chance to meet new business owners coming into the area and to introduce Ives Bank to them. Being an Ambassador also provides our employees with the opportunity to expand their professional networks.

Learning Development

We strongly encourage our employees to learn, grow and develop professionally. We offer numerous opportunities for each team member to do so.

We support having employees and officers participate in industry and banking association educational opportunities. Ives Bank pays the costs of classes through the Center for Financial Training (CFT) for any full-time employee with at least three months of service.

For full-time employees with a year or more of service who are enrolled in a business-related degree program, Ives Bank will reimburse the cost of college tuition up to the maximum annual amount allowed by the IRS.

Great Place to Work Committee

The Great Place To Work Committee was created to promote employee engagement by developing internal and external programs. The committee is made up of a group of employees who present ideas and suggestions for programs that may be educational, recreational, internal, external, employee-only or family-oriented.

Bank-Sponsored Activities

In addition to generous benefits, employees enjoy several bank-sponsored activities throughout the year. This includes catered lunch or dinner to celebrate special occasions, pizza and ice cream days, employee town halls, movie nights, live performances at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, Major League Baseball games at Yankee Stadium, pumpkin painting, basketball games at WCSU and so much more!
